TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSTITUTE REIMBURSEMENT
The Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI) may be able to provide reimbursement for the cost of transporting students to the Oregon Envirothon competition, especially for those teams whose opportunities to participate in such forestry-related educational activities are otherwise limited.
OFRI also understands that most Oregon Envirothon team advisors are teachers, and chaperoning students who are participating in the competition may require hiring a substitute teacher. OFRI may provide reimbursement for hiring a substitute for up to a maximum of $400 per day.
Requests for bus transportation and substitute reimbursement through OFRI can be made by checking a box on the Oregon Envirothon registration form.
Please note:
- No commitment to reimbursement can be made prior to approval of a written request.
- School districts will not be reimbursed above approved amount for substitute or transportation.
- In order to ensure payment, your school district office must mail (not fax) the following to OFRI no later than 45 days after the event, or by close of the school year, whichever comes first:
1) an original invoice,
2) a copy of your bus transportation approval letter,
3) your school federal tax identification number and
4) a copy of the transportation company invoice.
